You asked for a feltable worsted weight wool, and we were happy to oblige. Forbes is our workshorse 100% wool yarn that is suprisingly soft.  It can be used for sweaters, bags, and should be hand washed only, and dried flat.

It felts like a dream and knits to a classic worsted wool gauge. It can be substituted for any patterns calling for Cascade 220.  4 ply construction and 18-20 stitches per 10 cm (4″) on 4.5 mm – 5 mm needles (US sizes 7 -8).  2000 metres per kg, or 218 yards per 100 gram skein.

Because of Forbes springy nature, and smooth texture, cables really stand out well.  The swatch below was dyed with food colouring and citric acid, and uses a “broken cable” pattern.
